Thiruvananthapuram Airport Records 83.6 Percent Increase in Passenger Traffic

Total 3,23,792 passengers travelled through Thiruvananthapuram International Airport in the month of January 2023

The passenger traffic at Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, has increased with a record 83.6 percent growth, the Adani Group which manages the airport said on Monday.

The airport authorities also said there was a growth of 31.53 percent in flight movements during the last one year.

“Total 3,23,792 passengers travelled through Thiruvananthapuram International Airport in the month of January 2023. The total passenger traffic in January 2022 was 1,76,315. The average daily passenger traffic in the month of January 2022 was 5,687 and in January 2023 it went up to 10,445,” the airport management said in a release.

It said the total air traffic movement in January 2022 was 1,671 which was increased to 2,198 in January 2023.

“Now, Thiruvananthapuram airport has a weekly frequency of 131 flights in Domestic and 120 International flights. The connectivity has increased to 12 international destinations including Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Muscat, Bahrain, Dammam, Kuwait, Singapore, Colombo, Male and Hanimaadhoo,” it said.

There is connectivity to ten domestic destinations including New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Pune, Kochi and Kannur.
